According to Bloomberg's report, the "Emirates" stadium expansion project is only in the initial stage of development. In the case of its implementation, the stadium will become the second largest in the UK after "Wembley," which has a capacity of 90,000 seats and was opened in 2007.
It is known that the "Arsenal" club has expressed its desire to increase the seating capacity of its "Emirates" stadium to 80,000 seats, making it the largest in the Premier League. The "Emirates" stadium was opened in 2006 after the club vacated its previous match venue - the "Highbury" stadium, which has 60,704 seats. At the same time, neighbor club "Tottenham" increased the seating capacity of its stadium to 62,850.
"Manchester United" currently leads among club stadiums in seating capacity, as "Old Trafford" accommodates 75,653 spectators. The planned expansion of the "Emirates" is aimed at surpassing this figure.
